The Basics of Trauma in Students Experiencing Homelessness
In this episode, Jan Moore gives an overview of SERVE’s National Center for Homeless Education. She discusses the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act, and resources available to children and youth who are experiencing homelessness. Jan shares her passion for the work she does in helping to equip others to become knowledgeable advocates for children and youth experiencing homelessness.

Jan Moore is the Director of Technical Assistance for The National Center for Homeless Education at SERVE. She has spent 25 years advocating for at-risk children and youth. Jan has assisted with facilitating over 500 presentations and co-developed dozens of NCHE publications and webinars. She has served on the board of directors at a nonprofit youth-serving agency for 20 years.
Additionally, Jan co-created an online learning module addressing poverty, homelessness, mobility, and trauma and conducted it as a research study with aspiring education administrators.
