Executive Director
SERVE is searching for an entrepreneurial, collaborative, visionary, and creative Executive Director to lead our team. SERVE provides high quality research, evaluation, and customized support that drives positive educational outcomes for all learners. SERVE is a university-based research, development, evaluation, professional learning, and technical assistance center that has been awarded over $200 million in contracts and grants, including 16 major awards and many small-scale contracts. The Executive Director would oversee the operations of the Center, its current work, and interface with university systems. The position will require an emphasis on developing relationships with state, local, and federal partners in education and related agencies, as well as funding entities, to support SERVE’s growth and sustainability. This position will also require leading funding proposals aligned with the SERVE mission (About – SERVE).
Key Qualifications:
- 10 plus years’ experience with state, regional, or national educational organizations or agency as a leader or senior management.
- Experience in applying for, receiving, managing, and being directly responsible for large federal and state contract/grant awards.
- Experience leading complex educational research and development efforts at the regional and/or national level.
- Experience working with federal and state agencies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with educators.
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in education or related field or Master’s in education or related field with five years of experience.
This position will be a full-time employee of UNC Greensboro with benefits and will be based at the SERVE office located in a park-like setting in Browns Summit, North Carolina about 15 miles from the main UNCG campus.
