Christina Dukes currently serves as the Federal Liaison for the National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) at the SERVE Center. In this role, she represents NCHE and the field of homeless education in federal interagency discussions about the role of education in preventing and ending youth and family homelessness. She also serves as task lead for NCHE’s provision of technical assistance to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-funded Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) sites.

Christina began working at the SERVE Center in 2000 as part of the Anchor School Project, a federal Office of Migrant Education technology grant, using technology to facilitate school transitions for migrant students migrating up and down the East Coast. She also served as the Technology Coordinator for Project Kaleidoscope, a federal 21st Century Community Learning Center grant that served Spanish- and Haitian Creole-speaking migrant families in afterschool programs in schools across Collier County, FL.

Prior to SERVE, Christina worked for two years in the private sector as a Spanish and Portuguese editor and translator.

Christina received her B.A. in Spanish from Tulane University and her M.A. in Latin American Studies from Vanderbilt University.

In her spare time, Christina enjoys reading, salsa dancing, napping, hanging out with loved ones and her dogs, and writing bios about herself for the SERVE website.
