Victoria Coyle is a Research Specialist and joined the SERVE team in 2015. In her work as Research Specialist, she participates in all aspects of evaluation and client services. Whether designing assessment instruments or reporting results, she supports clients as they implement projects and works with them to assess their progress.

Like many SERVE staff, Victoria has a teaching background. As a science teacher, Victoria worked with students in an alternative high school setting. During the years that she taught, her students passed New York State mandated science EOC exams in greater numbers than had been seen with previous teachers. Many of these students had the capabilities to do well in school but did not have opportunities that other students might have. They didn’t have a supportive family, or their reading difficulty had never been recognized; some were not sure of where their next meal was coming from. She often thinks of these students when she works on projects designed to benefit students who struggle.

Victoria values opportunity, and approaches each project as an opportunity to work with people who do what they are passionate about. With SERVE, she loves that she is a participant in so many rewarding opportunities – projects that open educational opportunities to students who might not have otherwise had them; projects that develop opportunities for people who struggle daily to live their best life; and the most fun of all, projects that create opportunities for people to play in the dirt, program robots, or create a 3-D printer out of Legos that prints with cake frosting.

Travel is a favorite past time. In her opinion, the worst experiences turn out to be the best memories.
